I completed a fresh install of XP Pro. I would like to use the included Diskeeper rather than XP's defragger. Where do I download the program? It's not available on Lenovo's website.

It's really just Diskeeper Lite. Which can be downloaded here.

I highly recommend that you upgrade to the diskeeper pro edition. I configured it once and thats it. It is completely automated well worth the upgrade especially if you like the light version.

I think the diskeeper program is in your swtools folder. Hopefully you saved that before your install.

I agree with getting diskeeper pro. I've got it as well.

I saw the retail price, but I wondered if boxed sets were available/discounted anywhere?

Diskeeper is generally sold at electronics stores such as Best Buy and Circuit City. You might be able find it on sale there.

Is there a better alternative (and more impotently free)?

I searched ebay and froogle, and I turned up some pretty good academic prices. So, I think I will go ahead and pick up one of those. FYI: ~$56.00 rather than 99.95 is quite good I'd say. Also check CDW. Be sure you are looking at software and not support packages when you decide.

I've read good things about the free Auslogics defragger, doesn't have all the utilities of Diskeeper, but free. Personally, I've used Diskeeper for a few years now, even the latest one, but switched to Perfect Disk 8.

    I just tried this:
    http://www.kessels.com/JkDefrag/

I followed the direction and now it works when my screen saver goes on.

    Seems nice.

I just tried PerfectDisk 8.0 and i'm sold. I was never happy with diskeeper, always felt like it makes the computer slugish.
