Where to find my T510's Win 7 product key?

I bought my T510 (Win7 Pro, 64-bit) last year. I still have the original packaging. I am thinking about a clean install on this machine and would like to reuse the Win 7 product key.

To my surprise, the bottom of my T510 does not have the key (T500, T61, etc. usually have their keys at the bottom of machines). I searched the original packaging for it but failed to find it.

I am curious about how to get it.

    Thanks for any info!

    Cheers.

Try removing your battery, and looking under it.

Alternatively if you still have the existing Windows 7 installation, use Magical Jellybean Keyfinder to load up your Product Key for you.

The product key should be under the battery. Magic Jellybean Finder won't work for stock images as Lenovo uses a key that preactivates all other laptops with the same OS.

Well there are many ways to activate OEM Windows 7 (legitimately of course), if you use Magical Jellybean Keyfinder to obtain the product key and OPATool to load up the original Lenovo certificate it will verify with your SLIC table from the T510 BIOS to activate Windows 7 for you. This method will only work if your system originally came preinstalled with Windows 7 by the OEM.

Alternatively you can use ABR Backup and Restore which bypasses the need to remember the product key manually. This will backup both OEM certificate and Product key and will restore these essential information to your new clean install. This program pretty much does what the Keyfinder and OPATool do all in one application which is probably a more direct and easier solution. And yes I should've probably mentioned this the first time round too... *smacks head*

Thanks to you and Amiroquai; I found my Win7/64_Pro key under the battery of my new T530 laptop.

The rest of what you said (above) wasn't clear.

    Speccy works for this too.
