    Where to get "IBM Thinkpad" stickers?

    Hey, there is a guy in my class at school who has a T61p almost exactly like mine... Same screen size, same GPU, etc...

    HOWEVER, his dad works for IBM and he bought it through the employee pricing, and so..interestingly enough... his actually says T61 on it, not T61p, AND.. It has the colorful IBM logo on it! :mad: I want that logo dangit!

    We compared out laptops very carefully. Same exact form factor, same exact everything, both have the Nvidia Quadro 570M, we could not find ANY difference other than 3 stickers, that is, there is a sticker on the lid, a sticker on the palm rest, and a sticker at the bottom of the LCD near the hinge, where it says lenovo T61p on mine, and his says T61.

    There is a little recessed area in the plastic on the lid and palm rest where the stickers go, it's the same size and shape on both the lid and palm rest. His laptop has the exact same recess, the sticker is just different, so if you could find that sticker, you could easily peel mine off and put the IBM sticker there.

    Does anyone know if these stickers are available or where I should look? I am embarassed to ask Lenovo, I doubt they would help me anyway lol... BTW I think it's a metallic type decal that would be ruined by removing it and you would have to be careful putting the new one on not to bend it.

    EDIT: Hey it looks like the T60 sticker is the same shape, does anyone know for sure if it is? In fact, my sticker only says "Thinkpad T series", I bet the T60 sticker fits...

    I really like the retro IBM. As rational as I try to be, seeing the IBM logo when I opened the box was all I cared about at the time. There was a pricing error and I couldn’t bring myself to threaten sending it back only because I wanted to keep the IBM logo.

    If it’s a drop in replacement, why not? Use an x-acto knife to lift the old one and be really careful – hopefully it’ll look perfect.

    Who cares about the logo, very soon everyone will have a new one.

    I guess it is same thing as when you get a new girlfriend, first you care what she looks like, but in a month you don't even notice anymore.

    Just received my new T61p today, ordered 9/25, and it has the IBM sticker. Any particular reason use both Lenovo and IBM branding? I did not order through IBM employee or SPP programs.

    They are still transitioning. The X series all have the new logos, but the T series seem to be a mixed bag. My T61p has an IBM logo, my X61t has a ThinkPad Xseries logo. I think the new logo is quite cool. Nondescript, like the all black laptop. I always thought the IBM logo had a little too much fanfare and didn't fit with the rest of the motif.

    However, it sounds like people are ordering though lenovo.com and are running into thinkpad badging vs IBM badging. Hellbore did you order directly from Lenovo.com or through work/school?
