I don't know why I'm getting mine shipped from a different place than many other people on this forum. If anyone knows, please enlighten me!

I have ordered a Z61t for my friend, somewhere in mid-May and it was from Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong, then to Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong and then to USA.

One for T60p and other for Ultrabay battery.

I chose UPS Ground for $0.00 and Lenovo shipped by UPS Express 2-day at no extra charge. I didn't experience a delay either since they shipped 2.5 days after my order was placed. Maybe they are just ramping up service for everyone to make up for the T61 delays. Very pleased with my 1st direct Lenovo order thus far. My last ThinkPad was off eBay.

If everyone receives Express shipping then why is Ground even an option at checkout? If all Ground orders are automatically upgraded to Express then shouldn't everyone choose Ground shipping at checkout to save $50?

I'm just a stupid American, so I wouldn't know for sure, but my awesome Cantonese skills tell me that Kowloon is some sort of hybrid dog/dragon. (kidding)

    Go Kowloon shipments!! LOL

Good idea- almost seems too simple, assuming they don't get shipped to a distribution site or warehouse somewhere from which they are actually shipped to us.

But maybe someone can find out which facilities are in which locations.

The way my night is going, Shenzhel = Compal plant. Plus mine will have no ibm badges anywhere, will be a fartpad.

no, Kowloon sounds like dog+dragon in Cantonese. But actually it means nine dragons.

Bah... Mine shipped last friday (6/22/07) with EXPEDITED (actually the slowest shipping service) and UPS isn't projecting it to be delivered until this Thursday (6/28). :(
Oh well... I guess I should admit my original estimate was 6/28 anyways but I'm really *hoping* it's going to come earlier than that.

Actually, the Shenzhen factory was the one that used to build IBM Thinkpad. Lenovo started producing their Thinkpad line in their own factory in Shanghai.

Also, Hong Kong and Shenzhen is only one hour away. Lenovo may have shipped the computers to Hong Kong via cargo truck.

I got from Shenzhen and didn't get 2-day (only expedited). Maybe that's the difference?
