    Planning of ordering a new T61 15.4...

    Only problem i'm again concerned about the LCD....

    Can anyone report back what LCD brand has shipped lately ?

    It's a lottery. Both seem to ship arbitrarily.

    I was pleasantly surprised to get the Philips LG screen two weeks ago.

    the lg is alot better than the other brand but it is a crap shoot on what you get

    Also absolutely not (necessarily) true. I'm on my second Samsung screen. The first one was horrible quality. It wasn't a calibration issue, but a shoddy quality check. My current scree is better, but still has what I like to think of as a 'grit' issue that that the LG tends not to suffer from (though most of the Samsung's seem not to, either)... My colors are great and it's nice and bright, but the grain/grit issue does get to me after a few hours of staring at MathCAD or Solidworks or whatever else.

    In addition, there is quite a drastic difference in matters such as viewing angle. But that's entirely up to personal preference.
