If it's bloatware, then you "should" (at least I would) get rid of it, period.

But, if you named all of the programs you're talking about, then we could help you.

A numerous amount of "bloatware" exists, so it would be impossible for us to help out otherwise.

It's simple, anything you don't actually see yourself using you should remove. :)

bloatware is stuff you didn't put there, don't want there and/or won't be using. cd burning software is usually something some peeps might keep. preinstalled antivirus are usually software that needs to go bye bye.

Any "trial" software installed on your computer should be destroyed with extreme prejudice. It's just a marketing gimmick trying to get you to spend money on software that could likely be found elsewhere for less (if you even need it).

Bloatware is a misspplied term because of it's lack of specificity.

There are definitely things I would removed like the autobackup feature. It will consume your system disk in large chunks and you won't know it's doing that.

Meetloaf13 gave you a good link. If you follow it, you'll find some decent free security apps. I'd get rid of Norton and replace it with a free version of AVG, Avast or Avira (or if you want a really lightweight but effective AV, buy Nod32).

The ThinkVantage utitilies consume a lot of resources. There may be a few you can do without. Here's a discussion about what others have picked: ThinkVantage

If you really want to get rid of "bloat," do a clean install. This will not only get rid of unwanted programs, but it will also keep your registry uncluttered.

    Clean install
