    Which HDD's support Active Protection System

    I'm thinking of upgrading my current Hitachi 7K100 100GB 7200 RPM HDD with a more silent one such as the 250 GB Western Digital Scorpio 5400 RPM HDD with WhisperDrive. But how do I know whether the different HDD's support Lenovo's Active Protection System ? Does the WD Scorpio support the Lenovo Protection System ?

    While I'm not 100% positive on this, I think the Active protection system works on all drives and just needs to have the application installed.

    EDIT: Here is the Thinkpad information link. It looks like it doesn't matter what type of drive. Just need the Thinkvantage app piece installed and the additional hardware kaede metioned.


    If this is not the case, someone please correct me.

    IMO also. all the harddrive will works. because thinkpad using some another hardware to cover up your harddrive. im guessing that's the active protection system.
