    Hello,

I am wondering whether Lenovo/IBM has 17'' business laptop and how is that.
If not, any other recommendations? I prefer Thinkpads, but I have not found any on the Lenovo website. Did I miss anything?

Currently I am using a Dell Inspiron 9300.

    Best,
    David

At the risk of assuming a lot, I noticed all of the prior threads focused on 15.4", and you said that you found the dell inspiron 9300 much too big for your tastes.

If that is the case, even if weight is not a factor, most 17" models are going to be similar in dimensions, although some are more extreme than others. The HP business notebooks are infinitely superior to the Inspirons in every way, but even then the difference in actual size won't vary that much.

Are you sure you don't want to stick with a 15.4"?

    taelrak,

I am having Thinkpad fatigue now :) The release, legality, shpping/delay stories are too much. 15.4'' T61 is still my top choice. Just wanted to know more options.

    Regards,
    David

No 17" available. Try HP or Dell, Toshiba has some nice multimedia's. My buddy has a macbook pro that big.

17inch is too big to lug around. Why don't you settle with a 14inch and an external monitor?

About this...if you're looking to the Thinkpads for durability, don't get the 17" MBP. The 15" MBP is awesome, and the build is good too.

The 17" however, is just waaay too thin for 17". I saw the salesperson close the lid, and then press down on the center a full 1/2" and then some (that's over 1/2 the thickness of the entire machine!). I doubt it'd offer good protection for the screen if you need to carry books or know you'll have something heavy pressing against it

But as I mentioned above, the 15" MBP is awesome.

If you have a large enough budget. The Dell Precision M90 is a good choice.
