the default appears to be Energy Star, but which Power Manager scheme do you use?

I've always had it set to Energy Star, but thought I'd experiment... I use my machine on battery power most of the time, reconnecting it to the charger when I'm done to recharge until tomorrow. BTW, I use the ThinkPad PM utility to manage battery thresholds (thresholds at 60/95) and charging.

Which power scheme do you use?

    PS: I'm running a 14" widescreen R61 with a 6-cell battery

I like the "dynamicly reduce fan noise" option, though it doesn't solve all the fan noise on my X200.

I use what is in the SuperGuide (see sig). 7-cell battery, 187 cycles, 1.5 years old, and still holds 96.8% of designed capacity.

I primarily use Energy star, it does a pretty good job of stretching out my battery life.

I also have a "Sunny Day" profile that maxes out my brightness (but is otherwise very miserly) that I use when I take my tablet outdoors or otherwise want a very bright screen (even when plugged in on Energy Star I am 4 bars below maximum).

Generally when plugged in I use "adaptive" speed and "reduce fan noise dynamically. On battery I run at slowest.
