It would work, but there will be people who would hesitate to recommend an OCZ/SandForce combo. The 80GB Intel 310 is a good one, but it's $70 more.

But this one is faster than intel, no?

In absolute terms, yes. But beyond a certain performance point (which I'd suggest that most SSDs today surpass by a healthy margin), then the variable is reliability. The Intel is based on the X25-M which is very mature, while the OCZ is sporting a SandForce chip (not exactly held in the highest regard for reliability). A few quick searches should provide you with enough background on that.

One more question. Is 60GB sufficient for Win 7 professional x64 installation + office?

I'm using 36GB of my drive, including:
    -Win 7 Pro x64 SP1, fully updated
-MS Office 2010 Professional Plus (with almost all apps installed)
    -iTunes
    -other misc programs
    -3GB hibernation file

-basically a shutdown, with preservation of app states within Windows
-i'm running full-disk encryption, and this is more secure than simply sleep
-i have not seen anywhere near the amount of writes that tends to make most people nervous

So should I get this or should I get the Intel?

and how much space should I get? I want to be comfortable in the next 4 years of my laptop ownership. Would suck to get a 'low disk space' popup in no time. How much GB should I shoot for?

Oh but my laptop will come with 320GB Sata... that's the default? I'm planning on using that as storage and a SSD as boot?

Then you need to look at msata SSD's if you wish to retain the 320GB as storage.

Whatever choice you make, do not buy a Kingspec SSD!! I had the lovely experience of two months filled with booting and shutdown errors, before it just gave up the ghost and wouldn't work at all.

Ok. I want to get the OCZ 60GB hard drive then. But will it be enough for my OS/Office/Other application demands?

    Thanks

60GB should be enough as an OS and application drive alone, I have a 60GB OCZ Vertex II drive in my desktop as an OS boot drive along with apps and that proved to be enough with 20GB left over. Though ideally you want to compliment that with a large storage drive otherwise it will fill up the SSD capacity quite quickly.

Thanks Hearst, I will complement that with a 320GB SATA. Thanks for all the help everyone! I'll go with the OCZ.
