    Which T420 caddy to buy?

    I am trying to make my T420 a little lighter, so I am swapping the HDD for an MSATA SSD and removing the DVD drive and swapping it with a dummy caddy.

    Which dummy caddy do you guys recommend? There are so many choices to buy on eBay...

    60Y5512 is the part number per the Hardware Maintenance Manual. I think they're kind of expensive, like $30 for a piece of plastic.

    Yes, it will work, but it's to put an extra hard drive in the machine and is probably not as light as the piece of plastic.

    I wonder if that hard drive adapter is really 1.5 GB/s as labeled. Looks like they are re-using official Lenovo parts or labels.
