I'm going to replace my stock hard drive with a 160GB Seagate Momentus 5400.3
There are two different interfaces:
Serial ATA150 :
ATA-6 :
They are both the same price. I'm assuming I want the Serial ATA150 one and they both have perpendicular recording. Is this correct?

Which machine do you have.

Whoops, forgot to mention.
14.1" T61p
Thanks. -
Serial ATA is the interface used in your laptop and ATA6 will not work.

Ok thanks!!! For some reason I was thinking they were the same thing ><

Which interface for T40?
Thanks. -
I gotta think you should have ATA5 or ATA6 in a T40, but either way IDE is what you need. I am sure someone has done this upgrade and will give some firsthand input, momentarily . ATA6 is capable of faster transfers. It may exceed the rate of your MB, but it will work fine.

Thanks. It should be straightforward from here.
