    Which is Faster? Which would you choose?

    Currently deciding between:
    T43
    1.86 Ghz Proc
    512 Ram
    60 gig 7200 rpm HD
    + CD burner and 9 cell battery w/ base warrenty
    (Model #2686DGU)

    Or...
    T43
    2.0 Ghz Proc
    512 Ram
    80 Gig 5400 rpm HD
    + DVD burner and 9 cell w/ 3 year warrenty
    (Modle # 266876U)

    The 2nd one is $100 more, which would you choose?

    Unless you need the DVD burner, I like option one better. You'll get more of a performance gain from the faster hard drive than the faster CPU. You could always get an external burner if needed. Desktop drives offer better speed and burn quality. I had the ThinkPad DVD burner, I wan't that great. It was very picky on media, spotty burn quality and the drives can't be region set which can cause problems. Also you can upgrade the warranty on option one on ThinkPad's website. I think it is around $110. Good Luck.
