    My T61 had: 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 (4MB L2 Cache,800MHz FSB)

My T400 has a P8400 @ 2.26 GHz I'm not sure what the L2 cache is on this processor or the FSB.

    Anyhow, which processor is faster????

The P8400 is faster... though not by too much.

Edit: L2 cache for the P8400 is 3MB.

P8400 will be slightly faster, and much cooler when under load.
L2 Cache is on the processor.
    Checkout this CPU List.

Someone mentioned that the P8400 will run much cooler under load. Is that the new laptop technology? What's P and what's T?

The new chips use a 45nm manufacturing process, which is more power efficient (and thereby cooler running) than the old 65nm process used by previous C2Ds.

On top of that, the P8400 has a TDP of 25W whereas the T7300 had a TDP of 35W.
