With Vista, less than half of that. If battery is very important to you, get an X61s with XP.

8-9 cell batteries can get about 5-5.5 hours of use.

Like MYK said, you won't get much under Vista. With XP the possible you can get is 10 hours.

If you need battery life, the X61s is a better option. I got about six and a half hours with Vista on the review unit I had over the summer and it's probably more than enough performance wise.

There are much difference (refering to battery life) between x61 and x61s?? And another question: with xp professional I can get more battery than with vista? I have a x61 with 4gb and I like to install xp professional but I don't know that I can use it with 4gb, I think that only supoorts 3gb. Thanks

I've used both Vista and XP on my x61. With the 8-cell, if you configure Vista's power options correctly, battery life is exactly the same as XP. I got 7 hours under both XP and Vista. This was with wireless off and the screen set to 30%. I also turned off Vista's system restore and indexing features. Make sure to tweak all of the power options available in Vista if you want the most out of your battery.
