    yup, that one's great
you might also look into a w500
    or maybe an x200t
    or how about an sl510
    or maybe a u350
    there's always the t400s
but the best for you might be the s12
    or maybe not

You might want to fill out the FAQ so we can suggest an appropriate laptop for you.

That's like asking what kind of Ford should I buy ? (I know, not a car forum, but you get the idea).

depending on your Budget, the T series Thinkpad has the most bang for bucks, if you can't afford the T series (you can get various discount through coupons and sale event), the R series is not too bad. In fact the R400 Thinkpads has a lot to go for, it is based on the T400 series, and has both the screen and base magnesium roll cage. But if you can afford it, the T400 and T500 is your best choice.

I will overlook the Ideapad range if i am you, i think it is made by ASUS for Lenovo.

under no circumstance should u get a an ideapad... they are just like all other mainstream consumer laptops... junk (*in my opionion)
i purchased a y530 exactly a year ago, and i have had problems
3 broken keys on the keyboard
broken screen hinge (*a real big pain in my life)..
both seem to be real big problems on fixing as they the ideapad laptop are not very popular and replacements are extremely hard to find, even on ebay.
Until now i couldnt find a replacement battery, but 8 months after owning the laptop they showed up on ebay. (like 2 sellers)
the thing is with a thinkpad, they are very popular and can be easily fixed. Everyone has one, and doing things like switching to linux and what not are easy b/c of so many others making guides.
If anything, i recomend a T400. I would wait till feburary as the newer models will be out by then (as i heard). (the T410)
you can also purchase a R400, but for the price i recomend the T series.
you can get large discounts by going to

You aren't suppose to give out cpp/epp/spp codes on this forum.
