I find this comparsion quite odd because according to the website notebookcheck.net, 8400M GT is stronger since it gets better position on their list.

However, if we look at this table:

We see that HD3470 gets higher scores in both 3DMark05 and 3DMark06.

So, eventually, which one is stronger?

If you want a simple answer: the ATi HD3470.

and where did you draw your simple answer. the 8400m gt has a 128bit bus vs 64bit in hd 3470

Because I was referring to his benchmarks in question. Of course the memory bus comes into play with real world performance in games and such. I think benchmarks like that are pretty pointless in general but it also depends on what games...sometimes the bus doesn't matter much and sometimes it completely cripples a card's abilities like the 256mb version of the 8800gt :).

those benchmarks are pretty inaccurate, they rank a 7600 gt above a hd 2600.

Looks like people have discussed those benchmarks in question. Looks like there a bit better ranking from someone from this community. Seems like the bus does make a difference in what is ranked here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=293694 .

I was just giving op a lazy response to his benchmark question, sorry :p.

IMO, the 3470 is at least equal to ther 8400m GT, if not better. However, we will have to wait to have a more accurate portrait of the 3470

    The 7600GT IS stronger.
    And..?

It seems that the answer is not clear yet... So, could you tell me how many scores these cards are graded in Windows Vista index?

I do no know the scores but Vista index is a horrible indicator of performance. So you don't need to bother with those if you want an accurate picture at all :\.
