    So,
I just ordered mny new t61, and I want to buy some accessories while the money's available. ( I have a feeling I'm soon to be a broke college kid.lol) back to the point my specs are: T8300 processor, NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M graphics, 160GB HD at 7200 rpm, and I ordered it with 1 GB DIMM. I want to add another 2 G, but I have heard there may be problems mixing and matching ram w/ the Graphic card I have, is this true. IF not, these are the ones I have found, I do not know if I should get DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) or DDR2 667 (PC2 5400)
    So here are the DDR2 667 (PC2 5300)s I found:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145172
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220229

    for DDR2 667 (PC2 5400) i found
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227236

    Any advice would be appreciated

So, are you saying I SHOULD look for memory with the timings of 4 4 4 12, or look for 6 6 6 18 to match the factory one? sorry for my ignorance on the issue, I am far from being a computer guru.

The lower the CAS latency the less time it takes to fetch data from it. so a 4 is better then a 6.

If the ram is 667 mhz then their are 667,000,000 cycles per second.

The fewer cycles needed to read a certain cell of memeory the faster the system responds. For the same speed memory a lower Timing means faster performance.

4 4 4 12 timing the system gets 55,583,333 memory cell reads per second
6 6 6 18 timing the system gets 37,055,555 memory cell reads per second
