On a T61 will I see a better performance gain by adding 1GB of turbo memory or using a 7200rpm drive instead of a 5400rpm drive?

The machine will be used for web surfing, office applications, and viewing streaming video.

Turbo memory actually hurts performance by about 5%. Get the fast hard drive.

You don't actually need any of them. Why? You've already answered that question.

"The machine will be used for web surfing, office applications, and viewing streaming video."

Buy something useful i.e. beer :D

definitely get the 7200RPM drive...i personally would save the money and use it towards more ram....i would NOT pay lenovo to install it for me though.
