64-bit, no reason anymore to get 32-bit on a new computer. Here's the real question...which version of Windows 7 are you getting?

You should get the 64-bit version without a doubt.

You can get 7 for 40 bucks with Ultimate Steal if you are university student.

    64bit..
you CAN NOT upgrade from 32bit to 64bit...
    (afaik)
you will have to clean install..
and trust me, i had 32bit cause i knew it took up less space on my SSD.. now i regret it cause i want to get 4gb of ram cause windows keep crashing when i am using PS.
(no longer an issue for me.. that laptop broke :( )

32-bit is hassle-free, as far as Win7 computing goes. 64-bit can be more able, with the right software, but can demand more of the user - and only you know if you want to bother with those demands.

I think what he's saying is that PhotoShop is somehow crashing from lack of RAM - which he did not install because he has Windows 32-bit.

I will also advise you to install Win7 64-bit. I have very, very few problems with Vista 64-bit - the only reason I did have problems was because HP was slow with printer driver support.

I say 32bit windows 7 is best because U system hardware architecture 32bit sported.

That's not true. Most late model T's are spec'ed for 64 bit Windows. Mine runs fine even with XP Mode in Virtual PC. But if you have no real need for 64 bit don't waste your money.
