I've discovered two or three spots on the IPS lcd of my X220, that are brighter than the rest of the screen.
They don't show up at all against a black background, and are most apparent on a white background, but also noticeable on a non-white non-black solid background. They're irregular in shape, but brighter toward the center, and about a few millimeters in diameter.
Running a "fix bad pixel" by rotating through all colors app for eight hours didn't fix them.
How'd this happen, and is there anything I can do to fix it? Did I damage some coating on the display?

I have the same white spot, thankfully just one though. It doesn't really bother me, I don't feel it's worth the hassle of getting it fixed :/

You're more relaxed than me. The white spots on my LCD are bringing out my latent OCD.

I use one, and it has not been a totally satisfactory experience. To keep myself calm, I follow my spouse's advice: ignoring is bliss.
Whiter than whit spots on my X220's display
