    Who Doesn't Have CPU Whine on the T400S

    Hello all,

    I recently got a T400S from Lenovo. Love the laptop in every way except for the CPU whine. I have turned off "CPU Deeper Sleep" in the Power Manager; however, it does not really help that much.

    Since boxing week is coming up, a lot of companies will be doing specials.

    I am faced with the dilemma of either
    a) get an exchange for the laptop because seriously, it is one of the best laptops I've ever used (runs cool, lightweight and pretty fast)
    b) find a replacement for the T400S to use in university, because I can't stand the whine.

    So how many of you guys do not have the whine (not talking about using RMClock / Change BIOS)?

    If its prominent around all the T400S, then I have no choice but to find a different company and buy a different laptop.

    you should call Lenovo, i don't notice the whine on my T400s, as compared to say the T61. But my hearing maybe damaged working in a processing plant, where the loud noise may have affected my high frequency perception.

    If you can't stand it, then you should call Lenovo and get it exchanged to see whether that solves the problem.

    My T400s whines (screeches?) quite a bit, and it's worse on AC, which is the opposite of my T61, and annoying as hell.

    yes i got the T400s from work (you could say a Christmas bonus) and a X200 too.... by selling a T61p for around 600 USD. And i got the X200 second hand from my friend for 650 USD.
