In addition to other features, one of the beauties of Access Connections is the sheer amount of information it reports with regard to nearby wireless networks. Since I try to keep unnecessary bloat off my machine, I have forgone Access Connections and have stuck with whats built into Windowsbut I always found myself missing the detailed wireless information provided by Access Connections. Today this is no longer the case though as I just found out about a beautiful Vista command that spits out a lovely amount of technical detail on nearby wireless connectionsand it is netsh wlan show networks mode=bssid. For the technically inclined, give it a try.
Thank you Microsoft.

cool
the list was so long, half the networks got lost when the default buffer ran out in the command prompt
wish it came with a gui -
Yeah, wish it is GUI.
Dam you Microsoft.
Ps. Thanks for command. -
That is some good info. Personally I will stick with access connections. I tried having windows manage my wireless connections and it did a horrible job. When I would move to a new network it would go through several cycles of connect and disconnect before it finally had a good connection. With access connections its quick and easy.

That's a good command. I dropped it into notepad, added a pause on the next line and saved as a .bat batch file. Makes it pretty easy, thanks!
