Who ever wins, really loses. Anyhow, my ESD is 8/20.

 

It'll be helpful if you can provide the order date too.

 

order on june 30 with esd of 8/23 with 160 gb backordered hd.

changed to 60 gb hd in order to get it sooner...new esd...9/4

How do you find this out? I just ordered one from the Canadian site, and i think i found the link on the IBM site to see the order status, but it asks me for..
Enterprise, customer, INAC or company number.
in addition to the tracking number. I have the latter, but not the first one.

BTW, my new ESD is now 9/4/07. I pulled the trigger on the 160G HD after the recent price drop, and got an Ultrabay battery too! Hopefully I'll have no trouble cancelling my existing order, the reps were very pessimistic it would ship anytime soon.

 

yes 8/23 was my first date. They assured me that it should take no longer then 2 weeks so I went with it.

doesnt lenovo give the consumer a "2 business days" shipping option? Sure its gonna cost ya, but its worth it for some people whose computer doesnt come until late august

 

What's the point of 2 day shipping when your laptop doesn't get built 2 months later?

 

ooo hostility... i like that. well sp00n it must be there for a reason... unless lenovo intentionally put that there to trick you. if it doesnt come within 2 days, it can definitely cut time on the shipping, although not on the build time. im thinking it can cut the time to about 7 days

 

Ordered 5/22, ship date was 8/3 (thanks hard drive)

A lenovo rep reordered for me on 7/12, new ship date is 8/01, but it's on critical status so I hope it comes out sooner.

 

Why does asking a question = hostility?

I think spoon's point is, what does 2-day really save considering a) the bulk of the total wait time is build time, and b) free shipping take less than a week.

In fact, both my orders were delivered in FIVE days- so it would have saved me only 3 days in each case. Whether that's worth more money is up to the individual, but it amounts to a small fraction of the total build time.

You pretty much just said what i did...

so are you saying that your t61p was delivered in 5 days? I have to say you are one of the very few. pretty much everyone here wont get theirs at least until late july. Some wont until mid-late August.

And seeing some of whines and groans i suggested a 2 day business shipping so it can at least ease some of the pain. I dont know how much xtra the 2 day shipping is but i can say its at least 40 bucks

I think I win - I ordered 5/17 and the current date (since its moved so often) is 9/4. Why you ask - because I am part of the lucky few from the first sale that have yet to deliver.

I had a ship date of 9/11/2007 (ordered 7/27). However, it shipped 7/30/2007. pretty surprised about that.
