I was heavily considering a T400 or a U330. But the new S10 kinda complicates the decision process.

    T400 + S10?
    S10 + T500?
    Desktop + S10?

I figure it's cheap enough to get both anyways! ^_^

I think I'd wait until Christmas-time for more models to come out. Besides, I don't have the money yet. :p

Indeed, I'm waiting more towards october-november in hopes of hitting a sale and getting Wimax. Also hoping blindly that one of those 35w quad cores find there way into the t500.

I have a powerful desktop at home which I can use for long nights of CAD work, however I am looking for a laptop to bring with me to work / school and travel with me in my car. I have often struggled between the portable and powerhouse, but I am leaning towards a portable laptop. Eying the X301, but I don't know when that will be released. If the T400 is impressive I may jump on that. I just really like the weight and profile of the X300, but would like more power and battery life (which Centrino 2 will bring).

My biggest concern with the T400/T500 is that it has a gaming graphics card and not a professional based graphics card. The dedicated graphic will be just as useless as the X4500 as CAD work. :(

Cause its been possible in the past with graphic cards, dont see why that would change now.

If it becomes available for order within the next two weeks, I'll get get a T400. otherwise, I'll get a T61. I need to replace my 3-year old T60 for work.
