When I do Lenovo updates my computer turns on but only 3 applications load then the computer freezes. Then I have to restore my whole computer. Today I installed Norton Ghost and it did the same thing. Why is my T61 so fragile? Is yours like this? What could be the issue?

It's probably not a T61 issue, but a Vista one. You're using Vista?

Yes, I am using Vista. Are you sure it's Vista because I have Vista on my home computer and it works perfectly fine. Also do you know where the R&R files are when I make a backup?

In that case, it might be the updates causing a little boo/hiss with your current Thinkpad software.

Just press the ThinkVantage button when you're starting up. You'll be able to recover from there.

I know that. But I want to put the files on a USB. Is it possible?

You can burn them onto 1 CD and 2 DVDs. Just search "recovery media" in your computer, then follow the instructions
