I reinstalled vista using the key on the bottom on the laptop but I can't activate it ...
Why ? Solution ?

Did you install it on the same laptop?

Did you do a clean install? If you simply did a restore from the hidden partition, you don't need to activate it. If you did a clean install... Did you read any of the threads on doing clean Vista installs? Before you wiped your hard drive, you were supposed to use "Magic Jelly Bean Keyfinder" to find your real Vista key.
If your hidden partition is still intact, do a restore from the hidden partition, get that key, then do a clean install. If the hidden partition is gone, give tech support a call? -
Well, I don't mind to restore it, but i need a tool that will let me keep an image of my current OS and Data.
Do you happend to know any ? -
Look in your Thinkvantage utilities area. There is supposed to a program that does backups and stuff (Rescue and Recovery?).
If you happen to have a copy of Norton Ghost or Acronis Trueimage lying around, those also work.
Why can't I activate my Vista ?
