Btw, i've got both a T43 and a R51, the difference isn't as great as you make it out to be. In fact, i'd buy an R series over the T series, as I don't find the price difference is justified between those two models.

I have used CTXs, DELLs, TOSHIBAs, ASUS', SAMSUNGs, ACERs. And nothing that I have seen comes close to IBM quality of built - I have used T30, R40, T40s, X30s. These are superb machines where everything is very well-thought out, the keyboard is superior, the fan noise is bearable (unlike my Dell Inspiron), everything works well, looks nice, and is made of reliable, durable materials, IBMs have been with me on the planes, on trains, and I would never buy anything else. And the worldwide warranty is good - you can buy it in the States and use it in Europe or anywhere and enjoy the warranty!

I love my ThinkPad T60 which I brought recently. There is lot to say about ThinkPad and most of them have been told, I would say "I am feeling proud" to own and use ThinkPad!! I had used Compaq Prisario in the past and happened to have few other brands as well but I never felt the same. People were talking about being pricey, but I happened to configure Dell & HP with similar feature what so called default for T60. But I feel they are very pricy!!!

I never owned an IBM but I fell in love with IBM anyway.
I'm waiting for my first IBM z61t.
I think I fell in love because the build looks rock solid.
Why do you like IBM?
