Why does Client Security say my password has changed, but it hasn't? Can't use passwords!

This is weird, my T61P booted up and it managed to declare that it thought my Windows password had been reset (it hasn't) and then Client Security Solutions asked me to verify that the CSS password matched my Windows password, as they were always the same.

However, it says authentication failed, and I can't seem to stop it from popping up. I've also lost the ability to use my fingerprint reader to login to websites, it says that the print is okay, with that green checkmark, but then proceeds to say invalid password.

Anyone have this random problem before??

I have not since I usually dump CSS and don't have the fingerprint reader. What did support have to say about it.

Is there any point at all to keep CSS without the fingerprint reader?

This happened on my former T61 running VISTA Business, 3hrs. into configuring it out of the box. All tech support could recommend was a total reinstall from the restore partition. Problem didn't reaccur for the week I had the laptop.

Okay. I went through 2 hours of their tech support today.

The way to fix your CSS in case it goes bad is to uninstall it completely, then restart. after a full reboot, power off the laptop, remove all cords and batteries for 2 minutes, plug everything back in, turn on the laptop, go into your BIOS, reset the security chip, and then everything is back to normal.

    whew.
