    Why does the screen go back to full brightness when I turn it back on?

    Why does the screen on my T61 go back to the default brighness level after I turn it back on, even though I have it on a lower brightness level before it automatically shuts off?

    Are you on battery? Lenovo's Battery MaxiMizer has settings depending on its current profile as to how it behaves when it has AC power or is running on battery. Double click the battery icon (not the one in the system tray, but to the left of it in the task bar) and see what your current power settings are dictating your laptop to function withr.

    I have the same question. I'm on AC. No matter what brightness I set, it will be back to 100 (full) brightness the next time I turn on the computer. Seems there's no way to maintain the set brightness all the time.

    double click on the power bar
    next to power schemes name click 'new'
    type a name
    and change the brightness level and save
