My T430 has a 3320m processor and Intel GPU.

My T480 has an 8250u and Intel GPU.

My T480 has always been slower than my T430 ever was even after having done a fresh install of the OS to remove all bloatware.

Is this normal for a 5 year newer computer to be significantly slower? Or is the 8250u a really bad processor?

    Thanks.

It could just be that what ever power saving features in place might be too aggressive, have you tried using throttlestop to try and alter that behavior?
