They're charing like $100 now just to upgrade from a CD-RW/DVD-ROM to the DVD+RW. It was like $50 or less before. And then not to mention the fact that it says selecting it as an option may delay your order for a few weeks. There must be a shortage from their supplier I guess but I don't know why they couldn't ramp production more when it's just a DVD burner.

No idea. I am surprised about that too as DVD burner is such a standard now a day. Next thing, it would be either HDDVD burner or BlueRay burner
-
I'm sure that is a very popular option. What better way to offset a low base price than to inflate the prices on popular options?
-
Same is the 7 cells battery. The difference between the 6 and 7 cells used to be $20 now is $70
-
i remember i paid like $30 extra to upgrade to my 7 cell...and paid like 90 for a 2nd one....
I also only paid $10 for my dvd burner upgrade back in 09/07
these are the laws of supply and demand...demand is high..supply low...which equals higher prices
Why is Lenovo gouging so hard on the price of the DVD+RW upgrade?
