i have been reading this forum for a few days now, and i feel like everyone's getting a T420. Why not go with T520 for just a little bit extra and get a better screen?
I was just wondering why there is no T520 love here![]()

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
14" notebooks are preferred for most professionals. They offer the best price for portability, performance. That's why you see a ton of 14" Latitudes vs the 15".

If they're looking for a 15.4" Thinkpad, I think they would go for W520.

I feel like it's either T420 or W520. -
If I'm not going quad core, I'm going X220. If I'm going quad core, I'm going all out... W520.

Personally I opted for the T420 because it had the balance of being portable (T520 is a bit too big for me) yet at the same time, not being too small for doing long term desk work (compared to X220).
Price is another thing, I think the W520 despite its power is not that much expensive compared to the T520 which is probably why it isn't that popular this time round compared to its past siblings. -
The T520 is neglected? Take a look at the Ideapad lineup around here.....

I am actually looking forward to having my T520 delivered tomorrow! I don't need the power of a discrete graphics card so the price difference of 300€ between similarly configured T520 and W520 made me choose the T series ...

I just got my T520 today. Its bigger than i expected, but i love it. Its the right size for a complete desktop replacement, im a college student.
And i understand why you would go with W520, but i was looking for battery life and somewhat portability, and from what i can remember, W520 comes equipped with the 9-cell right away, and is heavier and has worse battery life. Also, quad core is cool and all, but i don't see enough performance difference between i5 and quad core i7. Especially not enough for 250/300 that lenovo is asking for it. -
I ordered T520 instead of W520 because of sale few days ago - with almost the same specs (i7-2720QM FHD etc) the T520 was 250$ cheaper. The only advantage of of W520 was graphics power, but for me this was not worth the price. Beside this, the reason to get T520 is base price compared to W520, and much more configuration options compared to T420.
Why is T520 neglected?
