Lenovo leaves the W520 off its Win 10 compatibility list. Why? I have tried a number of times including with downloaded Iso's and can not get Win 10 to load.

Intel decided to support only Ivy-Bridge and later plattforms for Windows 10, so Lenovo had no choice. The Tx20 models are officially unsupported, despite the fact that they can run Windows 10 mostly without any problems.

My w520 runs it fine. Disable the switchable graphics in bios when you install. I think I also switched off the Wi-Fi during the install at one point.

You are correct. I got it loaded. The Win 10 upgrade program has been significantly improved and told me to remove Rescue and Recovery to install. So the change in the graphics engine plus the removal of R&R made it work fine.
Thank you. I now have Win 10 on my X220, W520, W550s and just need to find a way to get it on my Asus Mobo desktop. -
What's so great about it? Seems like a lot of fluff and trouble to disable all the new MS stuff shoved our way.
Why is the W520 not compatible with Win 10?
