Why isn't anyone discussing the W700?

I don't see many threads about it, but this expensive beast comes equipped with a Wacom tablet built-in. I really love the idea of this. Any other laptops have such a feature? Based on the price point, I realize it would make way more financial sense to get any well-equipped laptop and a separate wacom tablet, but it's just too cool and convenient to have it built-in.

So any other laptops have this and are they cheaper?

Also - anyone own this thing?

We discussed it a bit when it it was released, but generally 17" workstation models are turned more to the corporate market, come with a price tag, and just aren't for everyone. Most people around are interested in more portable devices I guess.

The competition - HP Elitebook 8730w / Dell Precision M6400 don't get discussed much either. That's just normal and has always been so.

Other than that, we don't have any reviews yet, which would cause some debate, and no, they have haven't started shipping, afaik.

The built-in digitizer is a nice feature, I like the idea and I don't know of any other notebook offering that.

I'm waiting for a one (they are still not available in EU, however). I think I will prepare a "User review" and compare it to some other ThinkPads.

I considered HP 8730w, however, recently, I had to completely dismantle its predecessor (namely the HP nx8220, which is - at least build-wise - identical to nw series) to replace a melted power socket.
In this category (a built quality) HPs seem to still be behind TPs. At least according to my three year experience with both of them.

Looking at the specs on the Lenovo site they claim the Wacom tablet to be 120cm x 80cm  Holy **** Lenovo can you stop with the typo's?!?!?

I saw a guy with one on campus the other day. It is huge! I wished I had a camera with me to take a picture. The w700 was next to a x61 and it seemed to just engulf the poor little ultraportable.

What about battery? I'm asking because from the available datasheet it looks like a separately offered 9-cell battery (45J7914) will stick out (even in this behemoth).

This is what I've found on Lenovo's site:
W700, Customize & buy section: " Please note, this extended life [9-cell] battery is slightly heavier than the standard one and will extend beyond the back of this notebook."
