I'm done with montevina, it didn't live up to my expections performance wise, and cost wise, so I'm getting a T61. But not without questions!

Does the 6 cell battery stick out?
    Hows the 570 in gaming?
    How hot does it get?

and is 1200 dollars good for a 2g 2.4proccesor laptop with 570 graphics?

The 6/7/9 cell battery goes stick out. I think you can only get the 9 now anyways unless you want to wait over a month to get it.

The 570 is good for gaming. I don't think it will run crysis or anything of that caliber but wc3, counter-strike is fine on high settings

I am not sure about the heat. Try checking the T61 review. The temperatures are all on that.

1200$ is a little expensive. Does that include the bigger battery, more ram, best screen, etc?

EDIT: I am talking about the 14.1"

What size screen? The 6-cell doesn't stick out of the 15".

Just a standard screen with a 160g 7200 rpm hard drive, 6 cell reduced the cost by 50 so I just went ahead and down graded it, but you really dont think the 570 cant handle newer games? Alot say its close to the 9600gt.

    edit:
    15 inch screen

The 570 is similar(or the same) as the 8600GT DDR3 nvidia card. It is a very powerful card and works very well for games in my opinion. I can play DOOM3 on ultrahigh setting without any problems, and that is with stock drives and no tweaking at all.

How can you be done with the new platform from Intel, when Lenovo hasn't released their new thinkpads yet.

I think you could try to look for some coupons or something. Maybe wait until they release the new lineup and then get a T61p for a discount. That's what I would personally recommend doing. Also the 570M is a great gaming card. I have been able to play CoD4 with no problems. The only battery that sticks out on the 15" T61p is the 9 cell, however I think the extra battery life is worth it.

You have stuff listed here and there. Please list your complete config, what warranty you choose and the total price. Then we can tell better.

It will fit into a 15.4" sleeve. However I am not sure how much it will stick out the back.

I am not sure about the 9 cell on the 14.1" but the 9 cell on my 15.4" sticks out about 3/4 to 1 inch. I can easily fit it in my notebook sleeve that was made for a 15.4" widescreen notebook. In fact my main requirement for a sleeve was that it would fit the notebook with this battery installed, because I sure as hell am not taking the battery out each time. So I would say that a 15.4" sleeve would fit your laptop comfortably, with maybe even a little room to spare.

Wont the FX 570 be a candidate for melting down/explosion due to Nvidia's statement earlier. Thats the only thing holding me back from a purchase.
