Why doesn't Lenovo or any other manufacturer besides Apple (to my knowledge), make a sleeker charger?

I know it's probably mostly a matter of cost v. aesthetics, but still... I would love to have a smaller charger. The magnetic release for Macbooks is pretty cool too.

They do, it's just not standard. It's called Slim charger, or something like that. It's under the accessories page.

Chargers can't be smaller than they are. the size and weight are directly attributable to the number of amps and volts the power block must output.
I believe amps impacts the weight, and volts impacts the physical size, but i'm not 100% sure.

The thing is you can not just replace the "base" charger with the slim one, you have to order it _additionally_. Likewise you can not order docking station without charger. So you can end up with 3 of them.

Because the consumer will have to pay for it.

For apple, is not a big issue, since it mostly targets individuals. So, a +20$ on a 2k$ laptop is not too much.

However, lenovo targets mostly corporations, for them, a +20$ means, for example, 2,000*20$...

Yeah He's wrong. They can make smaller chargers at a higher cost.

I would hardly call the Apple charger slick. It's actually quite blocky.....
