I've been told that Lenovo has reproduced the problem and that the engineers are currently working with NVIDIA to diagnose and fix it. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything...

Haven't read the whole thread but It turns out in my case the nmi parity error was due to a bad graphics card. Which would explain the resume from standby issue as the screen is reset to on mode. I had them switch the mobo. My laptop went to ez serv 3 times before I wrote them a 2 page letter and taped it to the laptop describing the problem and how it should be fixed (new mobo please). They were basically reloading the drivers and sending it back. Even after I had told them how to reproduce the errors they claimed the errors never happened when they performed their testing. Laptop has been perfect since then, mind you the BSOD happened right out of the box. Run pc doctor and see if your laptop fails the video tests.

Good news! There's a new BIOS & driver update that should fix the problem. I've tested it and it seems to work. I've also been told that it should be available on lenovo.com in the next week or two...

dzenc, thanks for the update.
Lenovo put a new bios on their website last week (2.14-1.08, dated 2nd April!) so I was hoping that would finally fix this problem. But, alas, no. Still the BSOD resuming from hibernation when you close the screen at the start of hibernating.
Was that the bios you were testing and did it only work in combination with an updated nVidia driver? -
Hi, I had the same issue, and the BIOS update did not fix it for me either. But after that, I decided to go ahead and update the power manager and power management driver (check manager, you get the driver too) which were listed as non-critical and both of which listed no significant bug fixes associated with them. Once I did that, the problem has GONE AWAY!! HALLELUJAH!!!!

I just saw this thread today and I feel your frustration. I'm a bit surprised the video test wasn't recommended earlier. I have a friend that writes video drivers and he's always talking about how a screwed up video driver can make just about any action on your machine crash it. Let alone a video card.
Back when I first got my Dell, I put in some hacked video drivers and it would crash my computer coming out of standby.
Random BSODs or crashes can be so tough to diagnose. It often means running the WHOLE gauntlet of tests on it. -
I replaced both the BIOS and video driver at the same time. The BIOS they gave me was 7LETB1T1 (T61, R61 with 1394) or 7KETB1T1 (R61 without 1394).
The nVidia driver was 174.31 (for XP). I think you can find it on the web here:

I'm glad you got the problem fixed

I just downloaded the nividia drivers from the lenovo website (174.71), and in combination with the 7LETB7WW (2.17-1.08), it seems to solve the problem. Hopefully, that's the end to the BSOD on resume.
Thanks for your support and raising this with lenovo, Dan.
