The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    No one was getting contentious and the thread collected 26 likes in one day!

    Some good could have come out of it. I think the owners threads have a defensive function and a conservative, not in the political sense - as in conserving function. NOONE was getting rowdy and no rules were being broken.

    Owners' threads will continue to exist, as they foster a healthy volume of discussion and allow for more of a "community" of owners to develop. Even though I personally prefer individual threads to allow more visibility for discussion topics, moderators will not be forcing posters to go one way or another. That was the conclusion reached in the other thread, and that was why it was locked.
