    My system:

    IdeaPad Y580
    Win7x64 Pro, SP1
    i7-3610
    8 GB PC12800
    240GB Mushkin SSD
    1 TB Seagate 5400 RPM
    nVidia GTX 660M (2GB)

what I'd like to do is to take advantage of the Wireless Display capability, but I'm having some issues deciding on a Wireless Display Adapter to use with my HDTVs. I suppose I could simply use an HDMI cable but I'd prefer to avoid that if possible. I have enough cables as it is. :p

any advice on the best wireless display adapter to hook up to my TV would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)

I went for PTV2000 from netgear and I love it. At first, I had some issues where first connection dropped before 30 minutes of playback and second was rock solid and could not isolate it to Y580 or adapter, however, after I formatted my y580 and WiDi app asked me again to update adapters FW (although first time I also did that), I no longer get disconnects. Every once in a while I get a little bit of lag (~1sec), but that only seems to happen with some specific formats that I believe require more bandwidth in the transmission. Overall, I am greatly satisfied with my combo so if you do not get Belkin's as suggested in the previous post, PTV2000 is really good (HDMI and RCA outputs available). Be aware though, that there is a new PTV3000 available, but I have read many complains from users, so I would avoid it unless everything has been resolved.

For us, ptv3000 appears to be just fine. A bunch of people on amazon just *****in about miracast not working yet. But miracast has nothing to do with widi. I'll get one eventually, just wish it was another 20 bucks cheaper.
