I'm in the same situation as you.
Depending on what you're going to do with your notebook.
I would pick the widescreen one, because of better spec and cheaper. However the screen quality is not as good as the flexview.
btw..there is a review on the widescreen T60 here

yes i read that review, good article.

i am not really gaming, i mostly surf the web, do some coding, and watch movies sometime, standard stuff.

i know the widescreen laptopscreen are better but **** FLEXVIEW SOUND SO AWESOME :(

Both are pretty darned big machines, too big for my comfort, but given the choice I would take the Flexview, hands-down. The WS screen is pretty unimpressive given the caliber of the machine.

is the flexview quality so great that it can compensate for the lost of 40gb hdd, 200mhz cpu and 64mb of video ram ?

    really?

That is up to one's priorities. For me none of those downsides would have much impact, but YMMV. I was not really happy with the screen on my T60 WS, which is noticeably darker than the one on my crusty old Dell 600m. This is particularly problematic where you have a WSXGA+ screen like the one on the 87445BU (which was the exact model I owned for one day). Personally, for me, WSXGA+ is just too much resolution for 15.4" in the absence of a really bright screen.

thats it, i am going for the flexview. i will upgrade the hdd to 7200rpm later anyway so -40gb is not an issue, and the x1300 video card is just fine, i have a 32mb at the moment and its no big deal.

I have the T60 ws and my screen is pretty much perfect, it all depends on your luck which both don vito and pmc123 didn't have with their T60 ws's. I know quite a few people with T60 ws's that love their's and have near perfect screens too.

In all fairness I didn't have any specific technical problem with my screen - I just felt it lacked brightness, which made the already-teeny WSXGA+ text unacceptably illegible. Frankly it would take a pretty remarkable screen to make WSXGA+ acceptable on a 15.4" screen to my eyes, and there was nothing remarkable about my T60's screen. To each his own, though.

Man..you're going to regret your order.
I just found(through visaperks.ca) a configuration of same machine as yours but with cheaper price and it also includes a 90W AC/DC Combo Adapter and 1GB Memory Key. For ONLY $1699.15 CND. Here is the part # 6TPE107
