Hi,
stumbled upon this system: 63716NU for $1,484 CAD or $1,312 in US/relevant currency.
comes with:
1.83GHZ core 2 duo,
1GB of Ram,
DVD writer
120GB harddrive
Intel GMA
9 cell
Seems to me like a decent deal already, but wait...
But what is most surprising is the 15.4'' screen, but it says the dimensions are 1280x800, which is a widescreen resolution. This would possibly make it one of the new widescreen t60's?
Anyways, i thought that i would post it and im going to call lenovo to verify.
(if it comes with an atheros card it would be great)
EDIT: CALLED LENOVO: the sales rep seemed to think that it would be a widescreen.but he didnt sound like he knew for sure...he just thought that if it was a widescreen resolution then it would be it.
I also confirmed through another site he gave me "pc.ibm/support" that it comes with the 802.11n Atheros card.
Thanks
Now i just gotta get over the fact that its going to be bigger, but cheaper than the 14'' i was planning to get, not to mention the small hit in battery life due to the screen size. Plus the integrated GMA really limits me somewhat to XP and hits the system performance

what about 14" version?
-
The 15.4" widescreen T60 is out, but there isn't a 14" version yet... I'd much rather have a 14" WS if I were to buy one, but I'm rather fond of my standard aspect screen.
-
hmmm..last time I checked the wide screen model wasn't available, but now IT IS!...very nice. I think I have to get my hands on one of them. Too bad it doesn't come with FlexView.
-
Hmm.....interesting. On the web site(lenovo Canada) it says there is no 802.11n Atheros card, however the 87445BU does have one.
-
What do you guys think, do you think its the widescreen t60 for realz?
-
I think it's a big heavy brick disguised as a laptop.
I wouldn't pay $2 for it. LOL -
lol yeah....i was thinking about weight...the widescreen t60 is noticably larger and most likely heavier too, plus the higher power-consumption is also bad.
But for the specs...its a heck of a bargain, maybe not in USA, but in Canada, its pretty darn good -
I'm only seeing about a 10% savings through visaperks.ca for any of the widescreen models. That's it?
Strange how even when logged in through the EPP program, it's the same thing! only 10% discount...
Maybe they haven't applied any of the Christmas deals yet. Anyone know?
Weight looks to be around the same as the Macbook pro - which I was thinking about getting prior to hearing about this "widescreen T-60" rumour (now I'm kinda glad I don't have to.. hurray for thinkpad!)
