This picture appears on the Lenovo homepage today.

Can't quite read the model number, but looks like it may be a T61? Based on the dimensions (space between keyboard and the edges on either side) it looks like the 14.1" version.

And the screen is centered... is this a different model or are they perhaps changing the form factor of the T61?

The model on the picture in the 15.4" T60, as far as I can tell . . .

It looks like Infrared on the far left front instead of firewire, and I don't see a UWB indicator at the base of the LCD. Plus the hinge brackets are the same width, my T61p's left bracket is wider than the right. I'd agree, probably a T60 and not a p even.

I don't notice the off center-ness at all. It's probably like watching a widescreen movie with bars on the top/bottom. Once you start watching, you focus on the content and ignore the superfluous items.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

Now I just need to wait for the 14.1" wxga+ displays to become available again... ugh.

I wouldn't nitpick whatever random visual they put on the homepage. I doubt the people who queue up that image are THAT detailed about what they choose...

I don't know why anyone would not buy a Thinkpad because of the screen. I seriously almost NEVER notice it. It's these threads that make me realize that the screen is off center. I'll be about 10 feet away and looking at the screen, and I still won't notice it.

I don't mind my T61's off-center screen. It really makes no difference.

yeah the off centered screen doesnt cause any problems or distractions. Is it just me or is the enter button on that t60 very "bright"? maybe they just touched it up to make it look better.

Nope, the 14.1" T61p is only standard screen.
