    Wierd Bell Sound

    The wierd sound come up just randomly. I don't know how to turn it off. Can somebody help how to solve that problem?

    Did it happen when you were going into hibernation or sleep mode?

    No. It just happen randomly anytime during working on T61.

    Could it be a USB device disconnecting/reconnecting? I've had devices just seem to disconnect and reconnect themselves for no apparent reason before...

    Oh ok, ya that sounds like a USB device disc/con, it sometimes happens with my 4GB USB drive on my XP computer if it isn't entirely plugged in.

    I think it is not that. I don't use USB and it doesnt shows anything like that. Any other ideas?

    Go into your Control Panel and turn off any Sound Schemes, then see if it makes any more noises. If not, then it was a Windows sound. You can then go through the list of sounds and play each one until you hear the Weird Bell Sound to turn it off.
