    Hi,

I am facing a wierd keyboard problem with my laptop. The laptop model is Lenovo 3000 N100.

It has a QWERTY keyboard as usual and the problem is - whenever I am typing one of the letter form the row which contains - Q,W, E, R etc , I am getting Q1, W2, E3, R4.. respectively. Notice that the numbers are just diagnally above that letter on your keyboard. If I type 1,2,3 etc I am getting same Q1, W2, E3 etc combination again. Its again taking a combination of the letter and the number diagonally above. However, there is no problem with other letters - A,S,D etc in the next row or Z,X,C in the bottom line.

This is not the usual keyboard problem in Lenovo/IBM thinkpad laptops, where you press the Function key with NumLock and its print number instead of some letters.

Also I tried connecting a external keyboard, but that works fine.

Are you aware of this problem? Heard of something like this???

If yes, could you please suggest?

I spoke to Lenovo customer care , but they are not able to say anything and directing me to take support which costing around USD100.

What I think is there is a Function key which enables this combination and somehow it gets enabled ( I can see a zigzag kind of light on, on my laptop). So just wanna check if you have ever came across this problem and may be helpful for me.

    Thanks in advance...

The zigzag light is just the power light, indicating your computer is on.

When did this issue occur? Right from the factory? Maybe you can try unplugging your keyboard, and then plugging it back in to reset it?

Hey, Arkit3kt, I followed your link, and went to the videos for his model, and I didn't see anything about the keyboard?

Hmm, you're right. I don't see it either, nor do I see it on the other Lenovo models. I'll take the link down from my previous post.

    Thank you.
