I have a Z61t (9440-38U) which has run great for almost a year now. I normally run the flush-fit battery and an Advanced Ultrabay battery to give me the most run-time in the smallest package. Running Linux, I could get 4 hours of runtime with this combination.

A few weeks ago, I noticed that the Ultrabay battery would drop from approx 45-50% to 5% remaining capacity, instantaneously, ie, bypassing approx half of its alleged capacity. A service call into Lenovo got me a replacement under warranty in 3 days (great job Lenovo!).

However, after fully charging this new battery, I noticed that it discharged linearly down to 28%, but then even it jumped down to 4% remaining.

The full cycle count of the original Advanced Ultrabay battery was still less than 20. I set up the battery manager to discharge both the primary and Ultrabay batteries in-step, so that the 2nd battery doesn't "deep cycle" EVERY TIME. (See batteryd.cc on Thinkwiki for more details.)

Does anyone else see similar behavior with their Advanced Ultrabay batteries?
