I just brought it home and everything runs smoothly except the wifi. It connects and everything and then it pops up websites slowly, but then when i looked my my pc it disconnected its internet. I have no clue why right when i connect onto the network from the laptop it disconnects my pc. And the connection goes on and off on the laptop. The ip addresses are completely different so i have no idea wats going on.
Could it be a defective wifi card?

Shut down the firewall see if it gets any better.

there is no firewall on my laptop right now. It easily connects to my university wifi that requires me to login. But at home whenever i try to login it seems like it shutsdown the wifi of the whole house whenever i try to connect and when i turn off my wifi switch the wifi in the house is fine. I've never had a problem like this with any other laptop connecting on or any other wifi devices so this is really strange.

Hey, I'm having the same problem with wireless on my Y430
I have an older wireless router (802.11b) that sends out a b signal but the wireless card in the laptop supports A/G/N as far as I know. So when I use wireless, the router resets all the time. I have a USB wireless adapter that I'm going to use that I know works with this router.
I don't know all the details about how or why, but that's what I've figured out so far. Good luck!
Wifi problems with Y430!
