    Hello Everybody

Has anybody tried to install newer LG lcd into T61p?
I want to buy LG-Philips LP154WE2 that is said to be used in T500, for my T61p
    Will it match the laptop?
Does anybody have this screen and can comment on the quality ? (grainy or not, good viewing angles? )
    Thanks

The T61 WSXGA+ screens I've seen, not really sure which they were, I thought were pretty decent by today's standards, but they're not IPS screen in terms of viewing angles. Which screen do you have now? According to the service parts they use different part numbers, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are different or won't work. Keep in mind if you swap the screen, your warranty will no longer be valid.

It is Samsung LTN154P2-L05 garainy with poor viewing angles 50/65. I want to change it in IMB Lenovo in Bangkok. when I said about warranty they said no parts available. But whe I leant it was the forst day since my warranty expired they offered me LG, Samsung and AUO for what they wanted to charge me almost $500 where almost $400 is for screen and 100 for installion and I told them it was VERY expensive and unresonable. there is also LG screen LP14WP3 for MacBook pro that is good but sll wonders if it will fit the screen.

The part numbers for the T61 WSXGA+ LG screen are 42T0423 and 42T0417. You can get them on eBay. The LG screen might be less grainy, but I don't think the viewing angles will be markedly better. I don't know if the Mac screen will fit or is compatible.
