I would love to have those little laptop that is just for web surfing and word processing, which would be so convenient to carry around, and are less expensive. Will Lenovo have them?

Assuming you mean like the Asus EEE pc or MSI Wind? They already do...The S10.

Wow, thanks! I'm so far behind! :p Might get one before long. Start watching the prices... How do they compare to ASUS? Are there good reasons to choose Lenovo over Asus? (I prefer to stay with the same familiar manufacturer)

Thought of a question: the S10's also have Matt screen do they?

Thanks, there is even a video clip there.

I have an ultra layman's question: apparently the netbook has no CD drive (even X series don't have it). If I want to install some software, say I have a Wordperfect CD, can I just save the complete content of the CD to a USB flash drive and then transfer it to the netbook, then run the .exe to install the word processor? Will that work?

Not sure if that would work but you could always make an image of whatever CD you want and load it with Daemon Tools.

You can use a program like Roxio or Nero to save the CD/DVD to the hard drive as an .iso image. You can also use a program like PowerISO or Alcohol 120%.

They are all payware though. I am not familiar with CD/DVD imaging freeware.

Then you use Daemon Tools to mount the CD image (i.e. .iso) like a regular CD drive. When installing Daemon Tools, do not install the toolbar or change your homepage or anything like that. You do not want that stuff installed.

ImgBurn is able to make an image of a CD. Save it as a .ISO file and transfer it to a USB thumb drive or SD card.

Mount the image file as a virtual drive using a program like Daemon Tools Lite.

Both of the above solutions are Freeware and work well for me and my x200 Tablet (also lacks an optical drive).

Thank you so much for the advice about imaging CD. You all mentioned saving as ISO file, so does it mean copying a complete CD is not done by simply copying all the files on it?

Also thanks for linking the Ideapad forum.
