    Will This Drive Work in a T400?

    I have this drive off my S96J that I don't use anymore, it still works, will this drive work in a T400?

    EDIT: I guess not, the T400/500 use a SATA interface, not IDE. :(

    Yeah, first of all the drive is SATA. Secondly, the T-series Thinkpads use a custom slim UltraBay drive - that one is of conventional height and will not fit.

    Correct indeed MidnightSun. The optical drive in a T400 is SATA Ultrabay Slim which is 9.5mm and not the old standard of 12.7".
